Epidemiology for Action
On behalf of the Organising Committee I would like to thank all of the speakers and delegates who attended the 2016 Australasian Epidemiological Association 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting, held from the 14th to the 16th of September at the Australian National University in the heart of Canberra.
Apart from the cool and wet weather, the conference was a great success. We were very fortunate to have excellent plenary speakers to provide interesting and thought-provoking presentations. Parallel sessions were well-attended and covered a broad range of epidemiology. Highlights included the dinner at Boat House on the Lake, where Dr Chris Baggoley provided a very entertaining dinner talk that had many of us rolling around in our seats, the Welcome Reception at the beautiful National Arboretum, and a beautiful and moving Welcome to Country by Mr Robert Williams. I hope those who attended had a chance to meet new colleagues and broaden their understanding of methods and a range of subject areas.
I would like to thank our sponsors and exhibitors and thanks also to all who attended – without you of course there would be no Meeting.
